Greetings!
My name is Mrs. Gainer and I teach 5th grade. It has always been a dream of mine to create a blog, sharing what I am reading, doing in my classroom, or fabulous ideas others are doing.
I teach in central Pennsylvania in a Title One elementary school. I have been teaching in this district for 4.5 years, but have been in the teaching field for 9 years. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from Elizabethtown College and my Master's from Wilkes University. In between those two schools, I attended Lehigh Carbon Community College to obtain my English as a Second Language Certification.
As a teacher I am always willing to try strategies to help my students become better learners! This past school year I implemented flexible seating into my classroom, to help my students engage in their learning on a new level. I also implement technology into my teaching, based on the outcomes and strategies I am trying to have my students achieve. Another passion of mine at school is being a coach for our Girls on the Run teams! This is an amazing and empowering program for our 3rd-5th grade girls to be involved with.
When I am not teaching, I am usually found with my husband, Ben, and two dogs, Wrigley and Fenway (which gives a clue to our family's favorite past time).
You can also follow along with my adventures on: Twitter @KGainerteacher and on Instagram @adventuresofmrsgainer.
Let the adventure and fun begin!
